2 CPD - TBC
Course Overview:
Rigid insulation plays a critical role in achieving energy-efficient, durable building envelopes. However, improper detailing, misunderstanding of vapor control, and overreliance on product claims can lead to performance issues. This course will clarify: How rigid insulation affects R-value and thermal bridging Its role in condensation and dew point control Air barrier and vapor control considerations Attachment strategies and cladding implications What rigid insulation does not solve in an assembly Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how to evaluate and properly specify rigid insulation in commercial and residential construction.
Learning outcome:
Learn about thermal performance and moisture control with EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) & GPS (Graphite- Enhanced EPS). Rigid insulation is a performance enhancer — not a magic fix. It improves energy performance and condensation control when integrated correctly into the full wall assembly.
