2025 Legends of Housing

2025 Legends of Housing

January 30, 2025 (5:30 PM - 8:30 PM) (PST)

Description

HAVAN’s Legends of Housing is a premier annual event featuring influential industry leaders who have made significant impacts on Metro Vancouver’s residential construction industry. This year, the 2025 theme will be ‘Trailblazers’.

We are honoured to announce this year's Legends Trailblazers:

  • Brad Jones, Senior Vice President of Development, Wesgroup Properties
  • Brittany Reimer, Executive VP and Managing Director, MLA Canada and MLA Fraser Valley
  • Justin Bontkes, Principal, Caliber Projects

The distinguished panel of industry trailblazers will share a lively conversation with Kirk LaPointe, respected Canadian journalist, UBC Journalism Adjunct Professor and former BIV Publisher/Executive Editor and Glacier Media VP Editorial. Stories and experiences will be shared relevant to our changing market, their personal and company philosophy, goals, and their insights on this industry’s future impact on our communities.

Hosted by HAVAN's Government Relations Committee, Legends of Housing is a must-attend event, bringing together more than 250 people, including C-suite and upper-level executives, elected government representatives, industry leadership, developers, builders, and HAVAN members.

An evening of introspection and inspiration, the Legends of Housing sells out each year. View 2024 images and the 2024 highlight reel.

MEET THE 2025 LEGEND TRAILBLAZERS

Brad Jones, Senior Vice President of Development
Wesgroup Properties

Over the course of his career, Brad has built and led best-in-class teams that have spearheaded some of the largest and most complex redevelopment projects in the Lower Mainland - the revisioning of the River District masterplanned community and Coronation Park to name a few. Brad oversees Wesgroup’s Development, Sales, and Marketing Groups in addition to his responsibilities for project design, community consultation, and government relations. With a background in Urban and Regional Planning, he has transformed communities and has been involved in the design and delivery of over 4,000 homes and 5 million square feet of built space.

Brittany Reimer, Executive VP and Managing Director
MLA Canada and MLA Fraser Valley

Ambition has always run through the veins of Brittany Reimer, MLA Canada Fraser Valley’s Managing Director. As a former Olympian, Brittany swam for almost 6 years on the Canadian National Women’s team. From competing in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece, to the Commonwealth Games and World Championships, her knack for driving teams to win is something she brought with her into the real estate world. After an impressive career as a Canadian athlete, she immersed herself into a new, close-to-home passion – the Fraser Valley real estate markets. Brittany was born and raised in the Valley, and worked for many industry giants, including Onni Group, Polygon Homes, and BLVD Marketing, before finding herself managing and directing the force of MLA Canada’s Fraser Valley office, established in 2018.

Justin Bontkes, Principal
Caliber Projects

Since founding Caliber Projects in 2008, Justin Bontkes has led with a purpose far greater than building structures. He strives to glorify God by serving and uplifting the people around him. His leadership is deeply rooted in faith, shaping a vision that integrates love for family, friends, and community.

At Caliber, Justin has fostered a culture defined by accountability, excellence, and passion. Finally, the "Love It" philosophy instills a passion for the work, a collaborative spirit, and a positive attitude, ensuring that both the process and outcomes bring fulfillment to the team and clients alike. This values-driven approach empowers individuals to grow and contributes to the success of every project and relationship.

Justin’s vision extends beyond construction. It is about building people, building process, and leaving a legacy that inspires generational change. Justin models a life of service, creating communities and relationships that reflect his unwavering commitment to making a difference.
