Course overview:
This introductory session explores how air-to-water heat pumps can provide both space heating and domestic hot water using a single, integrated system. Participants will learn how these systems work, including the basics of hydronic heat distribution and high-temperature operation for compatibility with existing homes. The session will highlight where this approach fits best, including retrofit applications where maintaining radiators or baseboards is desirable. Through a lab-based demonstration with a real functional system on display, attendees will see key components, system layouts, and installation considerations. Builders will leave with a clearer understanding of opportunities, limitations, and what to look for when evaluating or specifying these systems.
