The HAVAN Designers Council invites you to the 4th Annual Designers Crawl on May 7th. This exclusive event will focus on architectural finishes - how materials move from raw resource to finished product. 

Walk through active manufacturing facilities, meet the teams behind the products, and see how materials are formed and finished. Get inspired for your next projects.

TOUR DETAILS

First Stop: Solus Décor – Modern concrete fire pits, water features, and fireplace surrounds
109 Braid St Building C, New Westminster, BC V3L 5H4

Start at Solus Décor’s 12,000 sq ft manufacturing facility. From its roots as a custom concrete shop, Solus now produces a full line of architectural products used in high-end residential and major hospitality projects around the world.

You will walk the plant floor, see how products are cast and finished, and explore how these elements fit into exterior spaces.

4:10pm Plant walk and discovery

Transportation
4:30pm to 5:15pm Bus transfer to Bedrock Natural Stone (leave your car behind, we'll bring you back!)

Second Stop: Bedrock Natural Stone

From raw block to finished application. At Bedrock, follow natural stone from quarry to final use. This tour includes both the outdoor yard and indoor fabrication areas.

You will see granite, basalt, sandstone, and rhyolite sourced from local quarries, along with the full process of cutting, splitting, and finishing.

Tour highlights
• Raw stone blocks and sourcing
• Landscape applications including retaining walls and feature stone
• Water recycling and reuse systems
• Rock splitting using plug and feather
• Fabrication equipment including wire saws and CNC
• Finishing processes including flaming for slip resistance

International representatives will also be onsite to share additional material insight.
