President and CVO, Tien Sher Group of Companies

Charan Sethi's journey is a remarkable tale of perseverance and entrepreneurial spirit. Born in the vibrant city of Jalandhar, Punjab, India, Charan embarked on a life-altering adventure at 13 when he relocated to the United Kingdom alongside his two siblings. In 1976, at 25, Charan and his wife boldly moved to Canada, initially settling in Toronto before eventually making Richmond their permanent home in 1978.

In 1984, he embarked on a journey to become a real estate agent, transitioning into a full-time realtor in 1985. Over the years, his unwavering dedication and commitment to excellence earned him many awards and accolades.

Charan's innovative spirit set him apart in the real estate industry. He honed the art of being a 'one-stop shop' for real estate developer clients, streamlining services that encompassed everything from land assembly and rezoning to design, sales, and servicing new home projects.

In 2001, Charan took a momentous step into the development world, focusing on niche single-family and multi-family projects, eventually founding the Tien Sher Group of Companies in 2003.

Tien Sher was conceived with a noble mission—to create housing affordability through groundbreaking new home solutions designed to meet the evolving needs of homebuyers. After nearly two decades, it has blossomed into a mid-sized, vertically integrated development and construction company dedicated to crafting forward-thinking home projects tailored to the ever-changing requirements of Metro Vancouver area home buyers.

Charan has been honored as the Surrey Board of Trade's Philanthropist of the Year in 2017 and Businessperson of the Year in 2019, a testament to his outstanding achievements and visionary leadership.
