Clever Quarters is seeking a Business Development Manager, someone who can be our consistent presence in Vancouver's homebuilding and design community.
We've been HAVAN members for several years and have built strong relationships with many builders and designers. Now we need someone to scale these partnerships strategically, attending events, hosting lunch-and-learns, and building the network that fuels our growth.
The Mission
Develop strategic partnerships with Greater Vancouver's builders, interior designers, and architects who refer high-quality clients for custom storage projects. You'll generate 15-20 qualified consultation bookings per month through the relationships you build.
The Approach
This role requires proactive, research-based outreach as your primary tool. You'll:
- Research and identify potential partners (builders, designers, architects working on projects that align with our capabilities)
- Initiate professional conversations through strategic cold calling, email, and LinkedIn
- Convert initial contacts into warm relationships through persistent, intelligent follow-up
- Represent Clever Quarters at HAVAN events, trade shows, and industry gatherings
- Host educational sessions (lunch-and-learns, showroom tours)
- Nurture partnerships to generate consistent referrals
Important: You'll focus on partnership development and lead generation. Our design team handles consultations, proposals, and closings. If you prefer controlling the entire sales cycle, this isn't the right fit. But if you excel at opening doors and building networks, this is an exceptional opportunity.
What We're Looking For
- Exceptional listener - You read people, observe situations, and adapt your approach based on what you hear
- Comfortable with strategic outreach - You research before calling, understand project timing, and initiate professional conversations with people you don't yet know
- Intelligent and strategic - You think critically about which approaches work and execute consistently
- Premium brand representation - You're sophisticated, articulate, and professional in all interactions
- Industry connection - Familiarity with homebuilding, design, or construction (helpful but not required for the right person)
Requirements:
- 5+ years B2B business development or sales experience
- Based in Greater Vancouver with reliable transportation
- Comfortable with on-site work from Port Coquitlam and regular travel for meetings/events
- Track record of building professional relationships and generating business
- CRM experience and organized approach

- Compensation: Base salary + performance bonuses (Target OTE: $95K-$120K+)
